Young Adults

In this day and age, young adults face challenges that are unique to their generation. No longer are people getting married and starting families right out of high school or college. People between the ages of 18 and 29 are instead taking time to explore things like career and education, love and family, where they want to live, and what their worldviews are before committing to something specific. You may feel stuck between having to play by your parents’ rules and becoming your own independent person out in the world. You may have outgrown childhood, but may not identify as a full-fledged adult yet. Often, society puts pressure on you to have things figured out, when you’re still exploring your options. You may have graduated college with significant student loan debt and feel pressure to get a high-paying job, when the reality is that you’re barely being offered entry-level jobs. Or maybe you decided that college wasn’t for you and you’re struggling with what to do next.

Therapists at Live True Counseling Can Help

When it feels like stability in life is a distant dream, therapy can help. During this time of life, it can feel like change and transitions are the norm instead of the exception. Therapy can help you manage the ups and downs that are common during this time. Exploring the pressure you feel to make big decisions and determine a life plan and all of the emotions that go with this can make a big difference. Therapy can help you determine the way forward for yourself and can help you find meaning amid so many changes.

Therapists at Live True Counseling understand what this time of life is like. We know what it’s like to feel the weight of the world on your shoulders as you worry about how to make choices that feel right to you. We understand the fine line between making decisions for yourself while also feeling like you have to answer to others. Our therapists know that the last thing you need is someone critiquing you and scrutinizing the conclusions you reach as you explore your options. Instead, our approach is collaborative and non-judgmental. We believe that the life you live is uniquely yours and that you are the expert of your own experience. We partner with you as you explore and learn about what works for you and how you can find stability in a way that resonates with you.

The most powerful tool in therapy is the relationship built by our therapists and their clients. That’s why we offer a free 30-minute consultation to determine if we’d be a good fit.
