Approach

I believe we all have the potential for growth by better understanding the nuanced aspects of who we are and how we move through the world.  I offer guidance as you explore and integrate the known and unknown parts of yourself, moving towards insight, authenticity, and choice.  I enjoy helping people connect with what lights them up, and bringing curiosity and playfulness into the self-exploration process.  I am passionate about building healthy interpersonal relationships, and supporting a shift from codependency to personal empowerment.  I utilize mindfulness and the mind-body connection in my approach.  I hold the framework that the body and mind are inextricably linked, and draw from techniques in somatic therapy, Gestalt, and Buddhist psychology to explore this connection. I also believe that a holistic awareness of self includes the systems in which we exist, and how we understand our place in the universe, including our sense of spirituality if we have one. I draw from modalities including Gestalt, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic experiencing, existential therapy, transpersonal psychology, Nonviolent Communication, Jungian psychology (e.g. shadow work), motivational interviewing, and internal family systems.  I am also a musician and incorporate the expressive arts into therapy for those interested.  I value social justice, and welcome conversations about how our intersectional identities inform our experiences of privilege, oppression, and mental health.  My goal is to be a source of warmth, presence, and support as you explore the many facets of who you are.

With couples and families, I primarily draw from Nonviolent Communication (NVC). This approach is intended to help us shift away from blame and "mind reading" and towards getting in touch with our deeper feelings and needs. My goal is to help all parties feel understood by each other, access mutual compassion, and experience a greater sense of both choice and connection within the relationship. All relationship types welcome (monogamy, polyamory, open, platonic, etc.).

Fees

I charge the following fees for my services:

  • 30 min. initial consultation: Free of charge
  • 50 min. individual session: $160
  • 50 min. partners session: $180

I offer a limited number of sliding-scale spaces based on financial need. I currently accept cash, check, and debit/credit card. Payment is due at the end of each session. In the event you need to cancel your appointment, a 24-hour notice is required to avoid being charged for the session.

I do not accept insurance; however, we are set up to take FSA/HSA cards.

The most powerful tool in therapy is the relationship built by our therapists and their clients. That’s why we offer a free 30-minute consultation to determine if we’d be a good fit.
