Overview
This training, focuses on the therapist’s mode and attitude, emphasizing self awareness and presence over the traditional objectification of clients in
suicidal work. By integrating existential-humanistic therapy principles, participants will learn to manage suicidality by addressing the root causes of distress, such as fear, meaninglessness, and isolation. The training will involve practical applications, ethical decision-making, and strategies to enhance the therapeutic relationship, aiming to reduce the risk of exacerbating suicidal tendencies through a more person-centered approach.

Learning Objectives

1. Understand existential-humanistic perspectives on suicidality.
2. Apply existential techniques in assessing and managing suicidality.
3. Enhance therapist presence and relational skills when working with suicidal
clients.
4. Develop strategies for creating meaning and instilling hope in clients.
5. Reflect on personal attitudes towards death, pain, and meaning.
